Central Bank Names Beverly Smalley Card Services Officer

Lexington, KY. -- Central Bank chairman, president and CEO, Luther Deaton, Jr., has announced the promotion of Beverly Smalley to card services officer.

Ms. Smalley's primary responsibility is supervising the bank's Card Services Department. The department, which has a staff of eight, is responsible for the operational functions of all debit and credit cards issued by Central Bank. And managing and maintenance of all 24 Central Bank ATMs and their functions.

An active member of the community, Beverly is a treasurer of Meadowthorpe Neighborhood Association, an elder of Meadowthorpe Presbyterian Church and currently is serving as a Session Member of the church.

Beverly has two sons, Josh, 19, and Andrew, 13, and they live in Lexington.

Central Bank is a subsidiary of Central Bancshares, Inc. which operates a total of 19 full service banking centers, 24 ATMs, a mortgage office and insurance agency in Clark, Fayette, Jessamine, Scott and Bath counties. As of December 31, 2003, Central Bancshares' total assets were $1.244 billion.
