Central Bancshares' Earnings Rise as New Offices Open
Lexington, KY. - Chairman, President & CEO Luther Deaton, Jr. reported Central Bancshares' assets were $1.684 billion at September 30, 2006. This compared to $1.584 billion on September 30, 2005, up 6.32%. Net loans and leases were $1.326 billion, rising 7.19% and deposits climbed to $1.349 billion, an increase of 4.33%. Shareholders' equity was $140 million, an increase of 12% from September 30, 2005.
Central Bancshares' earnings for three months ended September 30, 2006, were $4,681,203, or $13.46 per share, compared to $4,660,514 or $13.39 per share in 2005. Earnings year-to-date are $12,228,742 or $35.15 per share, a slight increase from $12,167,066 earned through three quarters in 2005.
Commenting on the bank's performance, Deaton stated, "We are excited about our earnings considering the level of investment we are making in new markets and new facilites to serve our customers. We have most recently opened offices in Berea and Richmond and will open soon on Keene Road in Nicholasville and are receiving a warm reception in our new markets in Jefferson and Boone counties. "
The new Central Bank banking centers are located on Brenwood Street in Berea and Merchant Drive in Richmond. The newest banking center in Nicholasville on Keene Road should open in mid-November. The lobby hours of Berea and Nicholasville are Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Drive-up hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Richmond lobby hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
